Today at 9 oclock all the year 9’s had to go to the auditorium And we watched a performance called The Ugly Shakespeare Company and there were 3 people performing a story… Also they were wearing different costumes each time they were acting out as other characters. Some of the people were acting as someone called william.. And others acted as other people in the story which I forgot what they are called… Othello was the black man and Desdemona was the person she/he married and that person is white… They are very racist. But it was very funny at times and when the guy that was acting he was girl and heaps of people were laughing and it looked like he was gay… SOme of them are evil and near the end a couple gets into war and gets stabbed with a sword… and Desdemona falls in love with othello… and Desdemona gets smothered with a pillow and no one finds out…
Here's a few photos of what the characters look like’s in real the show but the girl looks exactly the same as what all the year 9’s to 10s saw when they performed at our school...
The Elizabethan coustumes in the picture are interesting. I liked the shorts with stripes of colur in the show- a simple way to look like Elizabethan short trousers but also easy to move in as it was an energetic, quick change show.
