  1. Hi Abbagale
This is a great slide about a topic that is often misunderstood. Some people think that being under pressure and stress are the same. They aren't.
You can be under pressure because you have a lot of work to do or because of relationship problems, and you might be able to handle that pressure. In fact some people thrive on heavy workloads. However other people might not be able to cope, and could feel overwhelmed, and that leads to stress.
Think about it as being like two river rocks on a river bed. One has a slight "stress fracture" (like a small crack) on it while the other doesn't. They are both fine on the river bed until a 4WD comes along and drives over them, putting them under pressure. The one without the crack gets a bit muddy, but the river water washes it clean and you hardly notice any change. But the one with the crack can't handle the extra pressure and it splits in half.
People are like that. We are all different, and we react to extra pressure differently. The key is knowing what OUR breaking point is, knowing that everyone is different, and knowing what to do when we (or someone else) is suffering from stress.
The other thing to be aware of is that stress can build up over time, and then finally there is a "last straw that breaks the camel's back" and people might over-react to something someone says or does. That was the case for a lot of people during the earthquakes in Christchurch.
